Can I Find An Apparel, Housewares, Etc Source For Dropshipping?

Monday 13 August 2007 @ 5:00 am

Over the weekend I got an email from one of my readers.  This is what it said:

Mike,

Would like to know where to get quality wearing apparel - handbags, shoes, jewelry, housewares, furniture, etc. from a dropshipper.

Thanks!

- Patricia

Patricia, I’ve got just the source for you!

OneSource!  That’s right, again, I have to recommend OneSource.  In fact, they are the ONLY one I recommend for this area of need.

Why do I keep recommending them?  It’s not because there’s no one else out there.  Rather, they are THE BEST!

And I’m not just talking about Dropshippers.

They also focus on light bulk wholesalers for those that need small amounts of wholesale items, and bulk wholesalers for those who can take product in larger amounts.  They also include liquidators and importers!

OneSource hand-checks out every company that they supply to you.

I’ve made a video that gives you an inside peak of their website that can be viewed here.

They are not to be missed!

Free Interview of an eBay Importing Rabbit Farmer!

Friday 13 July 2007 @ 12:00 am

The number one question I always receive from my readers is "What should I sell on eBay?"

One good option is importing products.

Many find the thought of importing to be too scary and too complex, and that it requires too much startup cash.

When I heard about a rabbit farmer from rural North Carolina  who’s importing product to sell on eBay, I knew I had to investigate.

His name is Walter Scheu.

What a great guy!

He’s literally spent thousands of hours learning how to import items with minimal outlay of cash and minimal risk.

He was kind enough to grant me an interview and I know you will both benefit from the information and enjoy the banter between a Yankee and a southern gentleman/farmer/importer.

Walter is a good ol’ boy who tells it like it is!

A lot of great information and a lot of great laughs is what you’ll find in this week’s Fun Freebie Friday!

Who Can I Trust?!?

Monday 9 July 2007 @ 12:00 am

Recently I got email from some of my readers.  This is what they said:

Mike,

I have spent so much time looking for a drop shipper, only to hear “don’t trust this one” or “that one’s a rip off”–now I’m running scared-don’t know who to trust. Help!  -Bonnie

Finding top products - Jerry

Yea Mike, Can I get a list of WHOLESALERS??? - Rich

Bonnie, Jerry, and Rich bring up the most common question I hear these days - where to find a good dropshipper/wholesaler.

Again, I have to recommend OneSource.  In fact, they are the ONLY one I recommend for this area of need.

On top of that, they are offering a discount until July 19th.  After
that, the price increases by $50!

I’ve made a video that gives you an inside peak of their website that can be viewed here.

They are not to be missed!

How You Can Find The Most Competitive Suppliers!

Monday 25 June 2007 @ 12:00 am

Recently I got an email from one of my readers.  This is what it said:

Mike,

I have a question…

One of my interests is selling new and used fishing lures on ebay. One brand in particular is XXXXXX. I have done some research and found some auctions selling XXXXXX lures cheaper than I can buy them from the distributor.

Have you got any ideas for sources, maybe surplus or overstock? I have looked but can’t find any XXXXXX’s as cheap as the auctions that I have listed below.

Please help!!!

Thanks,

Leo.

Leo, I’ve looked over the products you mentioned and it looks like you’ve got a pretty popular item.  (That’s why I took the brand name out of your email, so that you could protect your area of business!)

It is true that oftentimes new eBay sellers will choose a product from a major wholesaler or dropshipper, get all excited, buy a bunch, then go check eBay and find people selling them for less than they paid.  Zoinks!

“How is this possible?!?” they ask.  Then they decide that eBay doesn’t work and they throw in the towel.

First, you have to do your homework.  Definitely, definitely, definitely DO NOT BUY an item until you check to see what it’s selling for on eBay.  You very well may end up paying too much and NEVER being able to recoup your costs.

Second, look at the supplier you are dealing with.  Is he a retailer?  Is he a wholesaler?  Is he somewhere in between (a middleman)? Is he in liquidation, surplus, or closeouts?  Yes, it makes a difference!

You see, there is no money to be made on a retailer.  He’s taking the last bit of profit for himself.

There is barely any money to be made with a middleman.  (That’s the level the distibuter you mentioned comes in.)

There is some money to be made with a TRUE wholesaler.  He buys from the manufacturer, marks it up some, then resells it.  Most manufacturers do not deal with anyone other than wholesalers, so this is where the chain starts for most products you can get your hands on.

Finally, there are the liquidation/surplus/closeout suppliers.  Here is where the real money can be made.  Why?  Because the items are so cheap!  They are just trying to get rid of them, and the prices reflect that.  You can made a killing on eBay if you find the right items in liquidation!

To learn the details about different suppliers and how to contact and deal with them, I recommend Chad Maslak’s book  “The Ultimate Insider’s Surplus, Liquidation & Wholesale Buying to Resell for Mega Profits Guide.”

I also have recommended OneSource for that, and I still do.

You can also check out my Ultimate eBay FAST-Start Success Formula course.  This course contains 6 1-hour audio lessons detailing ways to be successful selling on ebay.  More than 8 methods are explained in detail of how to find products to sell on eBay.

So, Leo, those would be my first few recommendations for you.

Keep looking (even using Google) and you will find a real wholesale supplier for your fishing lures!

Get Your Dropshipping Answers Here!

Monday 4 June 2007 @ 12:00 am

Wow, since I put up the “What Do YOU Want?” section on the top right corner of the blog, it’s been bringing in a constant influx of questions and comments.

The wide range that they cover really surprised me.

Some emails come from people who want to know if it’s really possible to sell stuff on eBay and make money. (Yes… there are many hundreds of thousands of people already doing so.. and you can too!)

Other questions are from people who ARE making money on eBay selling product, but they want to increase their profits.

I will be answering many of these questions through this blog.

The answer to this question below I’ve actually already answered in this blog, but it continues to be raised by new readers.

It involves dropshipping.

Question #1:

Where Can I Find Real Wholesalers And True Dropshippers, Even If I Live Outside The US?

Dropshipping is an eBay business method that just about everyone wants to use.

Why?  Having a dropship business is VERY easy to take care of, and doesn’t involve any inventory.

Experience has shown me that people who have trouble with this one need a little help in ‘thinking outside of the box’. Quite often they’re trying to copy what others are doing.

This is NOT the best approach.

Here are basics:

  • Do NOT sell the hot products unless you have deep pockets or a real killer source for these products. Why? Because the big boy sellers are gonna eat your lunch. Really! If an item is HOT HOT HOT, the big boys can (AND WILL) work out a great quantity discount price that the small guy simply can’t compete.
  • Your number one enemy on eBay is COMPETITION!!!!!  It is MUCH easier to make money selling a ‘less popular’ item when you face less competition.

Check out some of the things that I’ve sold A TON OF ON eBay (and made a TON of money).

  • Dehumidifiers (over 1100),
  • Chair mats (729),
  • Barney The Purple Dinosaur (300+)
  • Digital shipping scales (1641)

Do any of those items look like “super hot” products to you?

That’s right… They’re not!  But they’ve made me HUNDREDS of THOUSAND of dollars in sales!

This method applies to dropshipping too. Hands down, the best place to find quality dropshippers is here.

But…. many people make the same mistake there too. They look to sell the most popular “hot item” from the BIGGEST dropshipper. Then when they see a bunch of people competing like starving wolves on eBay and no-one is making money, they give up.

That’s a shame.

So remember. Don’t sell an item that has too much competition or is too popular.

Now don’t get me wrong on this…

If by some miracle, or stroke of fortune-a-tuity (I don’t believe in luck) you find a hot item that has no competition, then you jump on that item and sell it like crazy until you stop making money with it. Then when the field gets too crowded, quietly walk away and let everyone else battle for the scraps. ;-)

Dropship Products From The UK!

Monday 26 March 2007 @ 11:39 am

Do you want to dropship products, but live in the UK?

I just got an email from a reader asking for my suggestions regarding that very question.  He wrote:

Hi Mike.

I am very interested in the ebook, but live in the UK. Will the information still be viable for me, as the wholesalers etc all seem to be in the US.

It’s really hard over here to find genuine wholesalers and the ones I have found don’t really stock the stuff I want.

Cheers - Steve.

This continues to be a concern for my overseas readers.

The answer is…

Yes, you can dropship if you live outside the US, and yes, someone will help you to find companies to work with.

That’s right, you will be able to talk to a LIVE HUMAN that will help you get your dropshipping questions answered.

They will even do research to find a solution that works for you!

I’ve posted about this solution before, and it’s still highly useful and recommended!

I will be answering many of these questions through this blog.

Since many of these questions have much in common, I wanted to take some time to address as many of these as possible in a more broader sense.

Question #1:

Are you surprised that this is the #1 question? :-)

This is a very popular question. Experience has shown me that people who have trouble with this one need a little help in ‘thinking outside of the box’. Quite often they’re trying to copy what others are doing.

Can I Dropship If I Live in the UK?

Tuesday 9 January 2007 @ 12:00 am

I recently got an email from a subscriber in the UK asking about the new dropship / wholesale product sourcing service  from Worldwide Brands called OneSource.  He wrote:

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the attached info. I have been looking at Worldwide Brands packages for a while now.

However, the reason I have held back is because I live in the UK (England) and am aware that a large percentage of the directory I will not be able to trade with due to trade restrictions outside the US.

Are you aware of or do you have any suggestions for similar sourcing methods for the U.K.?

Kind regards,

Gary Cooper

To answer this question properly, I went straight to the source - OneSource.  Here is their reply:

Mike,

The answer to the question is ….

We do list suppliers that are located in other countries.

However, the bulk of the suppliers we list are in the US. A large percentage of the US suppliers will work with retailers that are outside the US. But keep in mind, that shipping costs would be exorbitant to any customers that you have that are not in the US, unless you purchase in small bulk quantities and ship the products out yourself.

We list on the supplier contact pages whether the supplier would setup an account with you or not, by placing the statement “Will setup accounts with International Retailers” in the comment blocks. Those suppliers are more than happy to work with you.

To get an idea of the percentages, over 50% of the suppliers that drop ship and over 65% of the suppliers that Light Bulk will work with you. That is a grand total of over 2000 suppliers to choose from.

If there are certain product types that you are wanting to sell, please be sure to contact our customer service department to inquire if we have a supplier that will work with you that carries that type of product.

Customer Support - Worldwide Brands.

So here’s the skinny…

There’s more than enough companies listed with OneSource that will work with you if you live outside the US.

Do not let that stop you from taking the next step in your eBay business!

But wait!!!

Did you notice the last paragraph of OneSource’s response?  Here it is again:

“If there are certain product types that you are wanting to sell, please be sure to contact our customer service department to inquire if we have a supplier that will work with you that carries that type of product.”

Have you ever heard of a company willing to help like that?

When was the last time you heard a company say ‘Call us up and we’ll help?’

That’s part of what makes Worldwide Brands the leader, and their OneSource a great service. They are there to help you succeed in your eBay / web business.

How To Import Product From China To Sell On eBay

Friday 10 November 2006 @ 1:00 am

It’s no secret that China is the #1 country for finding goods
to import to sell on eBay.

The problem in the past has been that you need THOUSANDS of
dollars to bring in a single product.

Did you know it costs $4000 or more JUST to ship a container
over from China? And you still need to fill it with product!

It sure can be scary to be looking at shelling out $25,000 (or more) to import a giant container load of product!

In this article we’ll discuss 2 different methods of using the China advantage to make profits on eBay.

——————————————————————-
#1 - A Different Way To Import From China
——————————————————————-

I recently came across a unique way of importing product from China.  I feel that this business model is going to revolutinize importing, especially for eBay / website businesses.

They are a wholesaler based in CHINA. They find HOT HOT HOT products and offer them at low cost and low minimum orders to you and me.

They have a wide variety of product.   Here is a picture from their website.

They are always adding more products.

NO SIGNUP OR MEMBERSHIP FEES!

What I also like is that they have some excellent educational articles explaining sourcing product from China, so be sure to sign up

This is a great approach and expect to see many more companies follow this method.

They’ve got some REALLY cool stuff.

You can click here to visit them.

——————————————————————-
#2 - Team Up With An Importing Expert
——————————————————————-

I’ve learned that when you have a new job or task to get accomplished, there are two ways of doing so.

  1. Invest your time, energy, and money to purchase quality training so you can learn the ropes and become knowledgable enough to learn how to get the job done.
  2. Find someone who already is an expert and work with them.

In building up my business, I’ve done a lot of both. My favorite is choice #2.

Finding an expert is the secret method that I haven’t discussed much in the past.

The importing guru that I teamed up gave me a unique source of product that few other sellers on eBay had. Our relationship has put countless tens of thousands of dollars of profit in my pockets.

Let’s call him…. Mr “B”.

I remember one particular item that I paid $150 for and sold on eBay for $350-$395 each was quite delicious!  :-)

AND HE DROPSHIPPED THE PRODUCT FOR ME!!! Woo Hoo!

Would you like to meet, learn, and possibly work with my importing guru?

He HATES when I call him that!  (But it’s true!)

I interviewed Mr. “B” in a private, exclusive, closed door tele-seminar on Wednesday November 15, 2006.

This 60 minute tele-seminar is now part of the bonus CD for “The Ultimate eBay FAST-Start Success Formula.”  The information and insight you will learn on this call is PRICELESS!

Everytime Mr B and I talk on the phone, MAN the million dolllar ideas just start coming. You’ll be there to catch them all.

This call was NOT a giant sales pitch.

It was all meat and no fluff! I had no product that I was trying to sell. Mr. “B” also had no product to sell, although I did allow him to explain how you can work directly with him to find and import your own product to sell on eBay and your own website while not paying $25,000 to do so.

If you’ve been banging your head trying to find great wholesale sources of product to sell on eBay, then you can’t miss this call.

Importing product to sell will give you an almost unfair advantage.

This call will help make that happen for you!
