Can You Still Make Google Adsense Profits?

Friday 29 December 2006 @ 12:00 am

Some time ago, an Internet Marketer came up with an idea that was called Adsense Arbitrage.

The basic premise is to create a website where the traffic comes in from advertising on Google AdWords.  Some information (like an article) is included on the webpage, and this information is surrounded by ads from Google Adsense.

The entire point is, not selling anything, but getting your visitor to click on the Adsense ads, thus generating revenue for you.

(For those new to this idea, Google gives some of its revenue generated from showing AdWords ads to the website owners who place those ads on their website.)

It worked well for awhile, then Google cracked down on “junk” sites that did not offer any valuable content.

Those website owners who did it the right way profitted greatly - and still do.

I’m all for tools that make life easier, and today’s Freebie Friday is about one that is outstanding in that regard.

Download the free case study of how someone new to the Adsense Arbitrage method made $4,515 his first month!

By the way, this is not something that was done a year or two ago and he’s still talking about it. No, this is a brand new case study that was completed just 6 weeks ago!

This free report details exactly how he did it step-by-step.  Follow the steps yourself, and be on the way to creating your own Google Adsense profit stream.

eBay Auction Ad Template SECRETS!

Friday 22 December 2006 @ 12:00 am

In the same day two different people contacted me asking basically the same question.

Hey Mike,

How’s things going?

Mike, I am sure you covered this somewhere or sometime in your Freebie Friday Newsletter, you do a great job with it!

Can you direct me to an EASY to use HTML software program that I can use to build nice looking auction description page for my listings?

Thanks buddy!

Todd B.

Hey Todd,

Thanks for the kind comments. I’ve answered your question in two parts below.

QUESTION #1: Program To Create HTML With..

First of all, EVERY eBay seller needs an HTML editor.

Probably the most popular HTML editor is Microsoft Frontpage.

(Note I didn’t say best… just most popular)

That’s what I use, but don’t necessarily recommend it! :-(

What I recommend is a free editor called NVU. (NVU stands for New View)

It’s 100% FREE and you can Download It Here.

It’s a GREAT editor that should take care of your HTML needs. Easy to learn and use and it writes very good HTML.

Highly Recommended!

QUESTION #2: Making Great eBay Auction Templates.

Sorry, but I can’t recommend a source of FREE eBay auction templates.  The ones that I have seen are kind of “cheesy”.

Some eBay sellers will try to make their own template.

I can do a lot of technical stuff but I have very little artistic talent. :-(

Remember… The first step to overcoming a problem is to admit it exists. :-)

There are people who will create a PROFESSIONAL customized eBay template for you. You’ll have to pay $200 and up though which is beyond many new seller’s budgets.

(There are even more people who will create a stinky looking template for you too and charge less! Ack!!)

Want to know my SECRET?  The easy method that I use to overcome my total lack of artistic ability?

I’ve joined a few membership sites which gives me unlimited access to about a gazillion templates, graphics, music, websites, flash graphics, etc..

Here’s the scoop…

These sites have an UNBELIEVABLE amount of high quality work. I go and grab some already done HTML work and strip out what I don’t need. Or I find music to use for my audio products, or artwork for my CD covers.

You can even download a complete ready to go live website. There are tons of regular HTML and Flash style websites.

It’s quick, easy, and looks much better than anything I could ever do myself!

Here are the two sites that I personally have used and highly recommend.

Resource #1

Resource #2

What’s cool about the above sites is that you can go see what is available BEFORE you signup for them.

Why two sites?

I like Resource #1 because of their wide range of downloads. From logos to CD templates to MP3 music, I’ve used a lot of their stuff in my eBay ads and PlatinumPowerSeller website.

What I like about Resource #2 is that they have a large number of BEAUTIFUL Microsoft Word templates that are great for making ebooks. If you are looking to create an ebook then you’ll love the gorgeous template styles you can choose from there.

So if you want to make your eBay auction ads stand out, create fantastic looking ebooks, and make yourself standout from the competition, visit the sites mentioned and use the NVU editor to make it all happen.

Funny Puns To Put A Smile On Your Face

Tuesday 19 December 2006 @ 11:02 am

Here are the 10 first place winners in the International Pun Contest:

1. A vulture boards an airplane, carrying two dead raccoons. The flight attendant looks at him and says, “I’m sorry, sir, only one carrion allowed per passenger.”

2. Two fish swim into a concrete wall. The one turns to the other and says, Dam!

3. Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly, so they lit a fire in the craft. Unsurprisingly it immediately sank, proving once again that you can’t have your kayak and heat it too.

4. Two hydrogen atoms meet. One says, “I’ve lost my electron.” The other says, “Are you sure?” The first replies “Yes, I’m positive.”

5. Did you hear about the Buddhist who refused Novocain during a root canal?
His goal: transcend dental medication.

6. A group of chess enthusiasts checked into a hotel and were standing in the lobby discussing their recent tournament victories. After about an hour, the manager came out of the office and asked them to disperse. But why?” they asked, as they moved off. “Because,” he said,” I can’t stand chess-nuts boasting in an open foyer.”

7. A woman has identical twins and is forced to give them up for adoption. One of them goes to a family in Egypt and is named “Ahmal.” The other goes to a family in Spain ; they name him Juan.” Years later; Juan sends a picture of himself to his birth mother. Upon receiving the picture, she tells her husband that she wishes she also had a picture of Ahmal. Her husband responds, “They’re identical twins! If you’ve seen Juan, you’ve seen Ahmal.”

8. A group of friars were behind on their belfry payments, so they opened up a small florist shop to raise funds. Since everyone liked to buy flowers from the men of God, a rival florist across town thought the competition
was unfair. He asked the good fathers to close down, but they would not. He went back and begged the friars to close. They ignored him. So, the rival florist hired Hugh MacTaggart, the roughest and most Vicious thug in town to persuade” them to close. Hugh beat up the friars and trashed their store, saying he’d be back if they didn’t close up shop. Terrified, they did so; thereby proving that only Hugh can prevent Florist friars.

9. Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and, with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him (Oh, man, this is so bad, it’s good) a super calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.

And finally,

10. There was the person who sent ten different puns to friends with the hope that at least one of the puns would make them laugh. No pun in ten did.

Beware eBay Scams!

Tuesday 19 December 2006 @ 12:00 am

I just received an email from a reader in France.  It details his experience with people trying to defraud him.  I felt this is something that all my readers should be aware of.  After all, knowledge is power!  You can read his email and my response below:

I write you this (long) mail to talk about something [that] looks like a swindle. Last week, I put on sale on Friday evening a dozen of objects in my eBay store. I used the bid format for certain very popular objects (Palm treo 650, Ipod, Dell Laptop…) an immediate purchase price. On Saturday morning (thus less than 24 hr after) I connect on eBay, with the pleasant surprise to notice that the Treo 650 was sold in immediate purchase ($523). I send the simplified contact mail to the buyer, and this one, an English gentleman, answers me in his e-mail that he bought the smartphone to make a birthday present for a friend in Africa. He thus asks me to indicate him postal charges for Nigeria by DHL / UPS or Fedex. I let you guess the price of an express delivery towards Africa by these carriers (yes, $146!!!). This exaggerated price does not discourage my buyer who asks me for my email address to pay me by Paypal. That’s the end of the first episode.

During the day of Saturday, second good surprise, my ipod was also sold in immediate purchase… I began to ask some questions when I noticed that the buyer is also an English person, and like the first one, he has a feedback of zero on eBay. But it is when I receive an e-mail indicating that he bought the ipod for a friend and that he would like to know if I can send the purchase in Africa where I began to say to myself that it should be really cool to have an English friend…

End of the second episode

On Monday afternoon, the third episode : my Dell Laptop is sold in immediate purchase, to an English women, also feedback zero, which she would like to send it to a friend in the USA. Obviously she would like to pay this purchase + an express carrier with paypal. I thought for a long time where could indeed be the swindle, because Paypal is a system where you receive an e-mail when the money is credited on your Paypal account. Here we are, the money is credited on your Paypal account, not on your bank account. In France, that take from 5 to 7 working days to Paypal to credit your bank account from your Paypal account after you made the demand… What leaves widely the time to the « buyer Â» to retract by I do not know which means.

But your goods have been sent (with the added cost of the transport by Fedex!!!). Goodbye the goods…

How I managed this business? First precaution ALWAYS go to see the feedback of your buyer, we obviously all had one day a zero feedback, but for this kind of sale, a feedback of this type, registred on eBay since 1 or 2 days, MUST start your radars!!!

Second precaution: in view of the particuliarities and the similarity of these three cases, I sent an email to my three customers, explaining that I will accept the transaction by PayPal, BUT I will send the goods ONLY after 7 days for safety reason. And guess what?  My customers disappear, when I look on eBay I see the magic sentence «  No longer a registered user Â»â€¦

Ok, it’s over for this email, I apologize for my English…. I hope my email will be useful for you, and maybe for your readers all over the world. Maybe you can tell me if you already have seen the same kind of hassle on

Mike, you make a good job on

Best regards,

Georges in France”

Here is my reply to Georges:

“You have to be very careful when shipping an item to an address that is NOT the Paypal registered address since you will not be protected as a seller.

Sounds like some crooks broke into some people’s eBay and Paypal accounts and were trying to spend the money!

Rule #1.  When someone requests to send something express and are willing to pay $150.00 without blinking an eye, chances are they are a crook.

I NEVER send an expensive item to a non-registered Paypal address.

I like your methods too!

Glad you didn’t get ripped off. This is advice all eBay sellers can benefit from.”

So dear readers, be duly warned!  If things begin to sound unusual, do your homework and protect your eBay business!

Make Your eBay Listings Jump Out and Sell!

Friday 15 December 2006 @ 12:00 am

During a recent seminar I made the point that of all the eBay auction posting add-ons, I like the gallery image feature. (The gallery image is the the tiny picture that is displayed to the left of the auction description when you do a search.)

But, I think that the way that most people use the feature makes it useless.

For example,

click here to view a bunch of auctions on eBay for Sony Playstations

Notice how they are all using gallery images that blend together?

What good is that?

The point is do NOT make your gallery image look like everyone else’s.

Do something different than what everyone else is doing.

Here is the scenario:

1. The person types Sony Playstation 3 and clicks on [Search]

2. You and a bunch of competitor’s ads come up on the screen.

3. Your ugly (but effective) ad grabs their eyeballs.

4. They then read YOUR item title description.

5. They ignore the rest and click on your link to see your item. Cha-Ching!

The gallery image should scream to get their attention, so that the potential buyer ignores the competition.

How To Make a KILLER Gallery Image Picture

A properly created gallery image is like a screaming kindergartener in a class room.

How can you NOT notice him (or her)?

You just can’t help ignoring the nice, quiet kid and noticing the off the wall noisy one. (Hopefully, your kid is the quiet one!)

Creating a gallery image is not really a big deal unless you don’t know how to make one. (Hee..Hee..Hee…)

I made a video using Microsoft Paint which shows you how to do so.

Free Software To Create, Capture and Organize Any Type of Note!

Friday 8 December 2006 @ 12:00 am

I don’t know about you, but I have trouble sometimes keeping track of where I’ve put things and staying organized.

Usually it’s not my fault. If my employees Jocelyn and Dan would just leave things where I put them, I wouldn’t have this problem.

The same problem exists when I come across interesting items online and I try to remember where I found them. (Again, not my fault, although I’m not sure how I can justify this!)

I recently found this cool tool that helps me keep track of things I find online. We have begun using this free software in my office, and it has helped tremendously!

You can easily copy the text, pictures, or even entire web pages into a virtual notebook. Everything is searchable by date, keyword, or even category (to further organize your notes!)

I know that if I try to copy and paste web pages into some other software tools, things appear screwy. Not so with EverNote!

I use it multiple times a day to keep track of cool things I come across.

I love it, and I think you will too!
